All manuscripts submitted to FOCUS: Jurnal of Law, published by the Faculty of Law, Universitas 17 Agustus 1945 Cirebon, will be screened using the Turnitin similarity detection tool to ensure originality and compliance with academic integrity standards. FOCUS: Jurnal of Law strictly prohibits plagiarism and self-plagiarism. Manuscripts found to contain plagiarism or other violations of publication ethics may be rejected by the editorial board.
FOCUS: Jurnal of Law is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and ethical scholarly publishing. All authors are expected to submit original manuscripts, properly acknowledge the contributions of other researchers, and comply with internationally recognized principles of research and publication ethics.
Plagiarism occurs when an author uses ideas, information, data, or words from another source without providing appropriate acknowledgment or citation. Plagiarism, whether intentional or unintentional, constitutes a serious violation of academic ethics and is unacceptable in scholarly publications.
When authors obtain specific information, such as names, dates, locations, statistical data, legal provisions, research findings, or other detailed information from particular sources, appropriate citations must be provided. Exceptions may apply to widely recognized facts or information considered common knowledge.
When authors adopt ideas, concepts, theories, methodologies, interpretations, or conclusions developed by other researchers, they must acknowledge the original sources, even when those ideas have been paraphrased, modified, or further developed. Authors may present their own analysis and interpretations while ensuring that the intellectual contributions of previous researchers are properly recognized.
When authors reproduce the exact words or statements of another author, quotation marks and appropriate citations must be used. Direct quotations must be clearly distinguished from the author's original writing. Paraphrased material must also be properly cited to avoid misrepresenting another person's intellectual contribution as the author's own work.
Self-plagiarism occurs when authors reuse substantial portions of their previously published works without proper acknowledgment or citation. Authors must ensure that submitted manuscripts have not been previously published or simultaneously submitted to another journal. Any use of previously published material must be appropriately disclosed and referenced.
FOCUS: Jurnal of Law uses Turnitin to support the identification of textual similarities. The editorial board evaluates the originality of submitted manuscripts and determines whether identified similarities constitute plagiarism or other ethical violations. The final decision regarding manuscript acceptance or rejection rests with the editorial board in accordance with the journal's editorial policies and publication ethics.
FOCUS: Jurnal of Law takes academic integrity and publication ethics seriously. The editorial board reserves the right to reject manuscripts that violate these standards and to take appropriate editorial action when ethical misconduct is identified.
