Manuscript Readiness Level
The Manuscript Readiness Level (MRL) is the checklist used by the editorial office of Journal Mestro during initial screening (see Peer-Review Process). Authors are encouraged to assess their manuscript against it before submission; manuscripts that do not reach Level 3 are returned to the authors without review.
| Level | Status | Criteria |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Not ready | Outside the Focus and Scope, or not an original research or review article. |
| 2 | Needs preparation | In scope, but not prepared with the Article Template, or missing required sections (abstract, keywords, method, conclusion, references). |
| 3 | Ready for editor assessment | Template followed; complete structure; clear research gap and objectives; methods described in enough detail to be replicated. |
| 4 | Ready for peer review | Level 3 plus: acceptable similarity report; figures and tables legible and cited; references mostly recent primary sources; language clear and consistent. |
| 5 | High readiness | Level 4 plus: significant contribution clearly stated; results discussed against previous studies; data and AI-use disclosures complete; references formatted with a reference manager. |
Self-Check Before Submission
- The topic fits the journal's scope in mechanical, electrical, energy, manufacturing, computer, or related civil engineering.
- The manuscript uses the latest Article Template and follows the Author Guidelines.
- The title, abstract, and keywords are provided in English.
- Author names and affiliations are removed from the review file (double-blind review).
- The manuscript has not been published or submitted elsewhere, and all co-authors have approved it.
- The manuscript has been checked for similarity and proofread (tools such as Grammarly may help).
