Publication Ethics Statement

Journal Mestro is committed to the highest standards of publication ethics and follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All parties involved in publishing — authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher — are expected to adhere to the following duties.

Duties of Authors

  • Originality. Submitted work must be original, not previously published, and not under consideration elsewhere. Work and words of others must be appropriately cited.
  • Data accuracy. Data must be reported accurately; fabrication or falsification of data, images, or results is unacceptable.
  • Authorship. Authorship is limited to those who made a significant contribution to the conception, execution, or interpretation of the study. All co-authors must approve the final version.
  • Disclosure. Authors must disclose funding sources and any financial or personal conflict of interest.
  • Errors. Authors who discover a significant error in their published work must notify the editor promptly and cooperate in correcting or retracting the article.
  • AI use. Use of generative AI tools must be disclosed as described in the Artificial Intelligence Policy.

Duties of Editors

  • Evaluate manuscripts on their scientific merit, without regard to the authors' race, gender, religion, nationality, institution, or political views.
  • Keep information about submitted manuscripts confidential.
  • Do not use unpublished material for their own research without the authors' written consent.
  • Recuse themselves from manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest.
  • Investigate ethical complaints following COPE procedures (see Allegations of Misconduct).

Duties of Reviewers

  • Assist the editor in making decisions and help authors improve their manuscripts.
  • Decline invitations they cannot complete on time or for which they lack expertise.
  • Treat manuscripts as confidential and conduct reviews objectively.
  • Point out relevant published work not cited and report any substantial similarity with other publications.
  • Declare conflicts of interest.
